Return Itinerary and Final letter from President Larkin

Dear Brother and Sister Jones,

 

We can hardly believe it is almost time for Elder Jones to return home!  On Tuesday, October 4th, he will check out at the Mission Office.  Then he will have the opportunity to attend the Houston Temple with the other departing missionaries and President and Sister Larkin.   Afterwards there will be a special farewell dinner and a testimony meeting.  He will fly home to Orange County, CA on Wednesday.  

 

Attached is a letter from President and Sister Larkin along with Elder Jones’ flight itinerary. We thank you for supporting him and sharing him with us in the Texas Houston East Mission.

We want you to know how much we have loved and appreciated the opportunity to serve with Elder Trevor Ryan Jones in the Texas Houston East Mission. Your son will return home on October 5, 2022. He has been a wonderful missionary serving faithfully and fulfilling his commission as a missionary with integrity and devotion as he has found, taught and baptized Heavenly Father’s children.

Elder Jones has been a joy to work with and has contributed greatly to the success of the Texas Houston East Mission. He has served faithfully and effectively in every assignment. The growth in faith and testimony he has experienced will be a blessing to him throughout the rest of his life. He knows that God lives, and that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior and Redeemer.

Baptism Date!

We've been grinding super hard here in Lake Charles! We put Nain on date for April 17th which is super sweet! AND we got 2 new people this past week. 1 was a person I came into contact with through facebook, and the other was a cool story. Were not allowed to street contact or proselyte, but we can knock on grey dots doors(area book equivalent to a not interested or too busy person). So we went to go have a lesson with one of our investigators, but the lesson fell through, and we had a lesson with another investigator like 50 minutes after. So we couldn't go home, but we didn't know what to do with the time, so I looked up the nearest grey dots and said we'd go there. The grey dot was a person named Maria who requested a Book of Mormon drop off, but after that she would just hang the phone up on us when we tried to ask if she got it or read it or anything. Anyways, we go knock on this person's door, and someone named Juan Carlo answers and says he's never heard ...

Sorry I have been super busy today...and everyday.  There is so much things to be in charge of all the time haha!  We get to go to the temple tomorrow.  We are the first zone to go.  I freaking love God haha!
