Back At It

Alrighty, sorry it's been so long again. I would've written an email last week about the freeze, but I had 2 reasons not to. 1. Every missionary and their uncle probably told you all how it was and 2. I had to drive a total of 5 hours to drop Elder Rivera off at the mission hole and pick up my new comp.

So I'll be brief about the freeze, although I'm sure you're all dying to know the Louisiana side instead of the Texas version. We never saw snow, sadly, because it all fell over night. We woke up and the electricity didn't work and there was like an inch of ice on everything. We weren't really fazed by the electricity, so we went to the gym and worked out in the dark. Only to find out when we got home that the water didn't work either... I dont know how we were dumb enough to not check for that Hahaha. The power was only off for like 4-8 hours at most, but we didn't get water till like 6 days after that. So 4 smelly dudes coming from the gym were left to ferment in their sweat until Saturday Hahaha we smelled super gross, luckily we had baby wipes so we got as clean as we could with those. We were really stupid and forgot to buy water before the freeze tho... we had to ration the water that was in our filter until we could go to the store and buy another pack haha. The English members came in clutch and took care of us though. We got 3 king cakes because everything shut down the day of marti gras, and Sister Caple (she is a member of the Orange ward, but me and Rivera talked to their family a lot when we lived in Orange) dropped off 4 little Caesars pizzas. So we ate like kings. Also, everything was out in the grocery store haha it was a zoo.

English connect was delayed because the snow, which stank, but happened this week! There was around 50 people that showed up and they were almost all non members or inactives! It was super cool to speak to them and stuff. We shared a scripture at the end of class and they were all really pumped to talk about having faith in Jesus which is epic! It was a super dope experience to see it all come into fruition.

Elder Galvan is super dope, his family is from Michoacán in Mexico, but he was born in LA (go Lakes). His family had crafts guitars in mexico, and they sent him one while we was on a mission and it's actually the nicest guitar I've ever seen or played it's pretty epic.

We taught a couple lessons this week which is hype. One cool thing that happened was that we have been trying to get in contact with a less active, and so we tried calling him, and a lady picked up. We though she was his wife so we asked if it was, but it wasn't. It was random lady who was from Mexico but had moved to Irvine to live with her daughter, and then she moved to Texas for work. She isnt in our mission, but it was a dope miracle to contact her, and set up a lesson. Hopefully we can get her address so we can send her as a referral! Also, we taught a lesson to a married couple this week, and the husband only speaks Spanish, and the wife only speaks English... don't ask me how that works. But they seemed super receptive to the message that we shared so that's super epic.

Sorry for such a long email lol. It was hype to see work progress pretty well this week. Hope you guys are doing well.
