Farewell

This is a mom post: Elder Jones gave his farewell talk via Zoom today.  It was scheduled to be in the chapel then last Tuesday Governor Newsome put California on lockdown again and closed all religious gatherings.  So he sat in the office and gave his talk to anyone who wanted to log in and watch.  It ended up being a great experience as many people felt like he was personally talking to them in their living room!  His talk was like no other farewell talk I've heard.  He shared the reason he is serving a mission, how he came to the decision and also talked about unity with our family, friends and Christ.  Katie Hammond mentioned it was more like a homecoming talk with the knowledge and depth of his thoughts haha!  At the end he bore his testimony in Spanish.

Later that day we invited a few families over to say good bye.  We had originally planned on inviting everyone, but with Covid we kept the group to about 10-15 families.  Everyone we invited came and it was so nice to have everyone gather!  So many people have watched Trevor grow up and love him so much! I am thankful for the village we have here in Ladera Ranch!
